Gold Coast-based Super Butcher stores have seen such an increase in meat thefts in recent years the corporate has taken to posting security camera pictures of alleged thieves on Facebook.
In the latest incident, a crook walked into the Super Butcher Oxenford store last Sabbatum, and loaded his arms up with $500 value of high-quality rib fillet and left before workers realized what had happened.
"People are becoming desperate and it is a sign of the days as a result of it is a high-value product," Super Butchers head Terry O'Hagan (pictured) aforementioned. "We've been told meat is currently currency for medication."
